Anabaptist Mennonite Spiritual directors

Anabaptist Mennonite spiritual directors support the unique spiritual journeys of individuals or groups. Spiritual directors welcome and attend to those they companion by listening and responding without judgment. Spiritual directors are intuitive, compassionate,  open-hearted and loving.

Anabaptist Mennonite spiritual directors are committed to
  • following the way of Jesus
  • taking Scripture seriously
  • understanding that suffering is often a part of following Jesus
  • doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with all
  • being in a covenantal relationship with a local faith community

Anabaptist Mennonite spiritual directors have a sense of call

  • which is discerned and affirmed within oneself
  • which is affirmed by a local faith community
  • which is discerned and affirmed within a training program

Anabaptist Mennonite spiritual directors are

  • spiritually attuned
  • theologically aware
  • psychologically informed
  • accountable to their own spiritual director, a peer group and/or a supervisor
  • abiding by Spiritual Directors International Guidelines for
    Ethical Conduct
