Brief statement
I believe that becoming a person of peace and living with love is sustained through compassionate attention to our inner life. By nurturing our desire for connection with the Divine and accepting all parts of ourselves, we move deeper into our true selves and live more authentically from our center. As a queer follower of Jesus, I have experienced the joy and peace of welcoming my whole self, the pain of separation from community, and the gift of open and nurturing communities. I bring my gifts of presence and deep listening to people’s lives during my years as a pastor to the work of spiritual accompaniment. I honor the story of each person, trusting the Spirit of Love is moving all of us to be more free, alive, and at peace with ourselves, each other, the earth, and the Creator. In addition to congregational ministry, I have served in community ministry as a co-founder of Zume House in Allentown, PA and as Peace and Justice Minister for Eastern District and Franconia (now Mosaic) Mennonite Conference. As a writer, I love words as well as spaces of silence, and I delight in music, singing, and lots of time outside. I'm always looking to grow as an accomplice for justice, praying and working for a day when racial, gender, class, sexual and other identities will no longer be used to justify violence or separation. Daily centering prayer has been one of the most transformative practices of my life.
