Sara VON Gunten
Our sister spiritual director Sara VonGunten, Goshen, IN died on June 4 following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer 11 days earlier. Sara is survived by her husband, Evan Miller, also a spiritual director and co-director of Pathways Retreat. Both Sara and Evan received their training at AMBS. We will miss her sense of humor, her ability to listen deeply and her wide, expansive love.
Sara served as a volunteer associate of Pathways Retreat for a number of years. As an associate she led retreats at Pathways for folks from Greencroft, our Mennonite retirement community.
She had a special passion for those among us who have wisdom from having lived an abundance of years. She also assisted in planning programs at Pathways and was a regular participant in our prayer community. She met with her individual directees in her home meeting space. She is deeply missed.
